About
The Vyne is a National Trust-managed property with a house and gardens to explore plus a tearoom to enjoy but the children will want to visit the play area which is one of a kind! Inspired by fantasy and The National Trust’s The Vyne is a 16th-century house, gardens and woodland with family trails. Circular waymarked routes run through Morgaston Woods and there are picnic benches in the gardens.
A stone’s throw from the house, a tearoom offers a family-friendly menu and ice-creams. The house, with its friendly room guides, showcases different historical eras from Tudor, to Georgian to Victorian. See if you can find the stained-glass window of a young, slim Henry VIII!
There’s a second-hand bookshop and a separate National Trust gift shop. A farm family favourite, don’t miss the Easter egg hunts. In spring look out for pockets of garden daffodils and blossom in the orchard and wild garden.
In April and May the woods have swathes of enchanting bluebells. In the summer look out for a mesmerising wildflower meadow followed by a fantastic dahlia border from late July through till September. Halloween trails run during the October half-term against a backdrop of autumn colour, while the tearoom offers hot chocolates and hearty one-pots through the cold months.
Christmas family trails run through the gardens and house. All ages can marvel at traditional Victorian Christmas displays in the house where trees drip with baubles, beads and cornucopia, the play area will set the imagination running wild. The Hidden Realm adventure play area encourages crawling through tunnels, sliding down grassy banks, exploring the wooden fort, controlling the water supply from the stream to the sandpit, and creating dams.
