Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how WithTheKids Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies on our website, and your choices regarding cookies.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.

Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser, while session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

How We Use Cookies

We only use essential cookies — the cookies required to keep you signed in and to keep the website secure. These cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.

We do measure how the site is used, but our analytics are cookieless. They set no cookie, store nothing on your device, and use no identifier that can follow you to another website. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent is required and there is no cookie banner. See Website Analytics below for exactly what is recorded.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.

Cookie NamePurposeDuration
__Secure-better-auth.session_tokenKeeps you signed in to your account7 days
__Secure-better-auth.stateProtects sign-in with Google against forgery (set only during sign-in)Minutes

Other browser storage

On attraction pages we store a randomly generated identifier called wtk_session_id in your browser's session storage. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to any other website, and your browser discards it when you close the tab. We use it only to avoid counting the same visit twice. We are replacing it with the cookieless analytics described below, and it will be removed.

Website Analytics

We measure how our website is used with Plausible Analytics, which we run on our own servers. It is privacy-focused and cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and uses no identifier that can follow you across websites or from one day to the next.

We also serve the analytics from withthekids.net itself, so your browser never makes a request to any analytics company and the data never leaves our own infrastructure. There is no analytics provider involved to share it with.

For each page view we record:

  • the page you viewed, and the website you followed a link from, if any
  • any campaign tags (utm_*) in the link you arrived from
  • your country, worked out from your IP address
  • your browser, operating system, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop

We also record when someone clicks a link out to an attraction's own website, so we can tell attraction operators how much traffic we send them.

Your IP address is used only at the moment the page view is received. It is combined with your browser's user-agent string and a secret that we replace every 24 hours, and turned into a one-way code. That code lets us tell whether two page views on the same day came from the same browser, so we can count visitors rather than just page views. Your IP address is never stored. The code is stored, but once the daily secret has been replaced and discarded it cannot be recreated, reversed, or matched to any later visit.

We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which parts of the site are useful. See our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Cookies

On pages that show an interactive map, we use one third-party service that may use its own cookies or similar browser storage:

Our website analytics are not listed here because they are not a third-party service: we host them ourselves and serve them from this domain.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control and manage cookies in various ways. Please note that removing or blocking cookies may impact your user experience and some functionality may no longer be available.

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Here are links to manage cookies in popular browsers:
