About
Saunton Sands is famous to the kids as the backdrop to Robbie William's 'Angels' track, this is three miles of golden sand backed by Braunton Burrows, the UK's largest dune system. The water on the west facing shore shelves gently into the beach making it a good shallow spot for novice surfers, but anything beyond paddling is not advised particularly at the north end where swimming would be actually dangerous. There is no lifeguard cover at any time of year.
Local facilities include toilets, shop and cafe bar. There is local pay parking and surf hire. Please note that the contact details are for the local TIC so please plan your journey independently.
