The forest boasts miles of ancient wood banks, building remains, and some of the oldest trees in the region, including the 'druids', or veteran oaks, which provide rare and amazing wildlife habitats. Did you know that Salcey Forest is a huge ancient forest, dating back to Roman times? Now you do!

Fancy getting physical? Embark on the family cycling trail! With a flat, wide and smooth trail, it suits any levels of cycling and is a great way to build confidence too.

If you prefer to walk, you'll find endless walking trails at Salcey Forest! From the Elephant Walk and Church Park to the Woodpecker Trail! Immerse yourself in the ancient woodland, keep your eyes out for an abundance of wildlife and spend some good ol' quality time with the family.

Don't forget the brand new Gruffalo Party Trail! It's fun-filled and family-friendly. Go wild on the adventure playground, where kids can climb, swing and slide!

There are lots of ways to explore, including a family cycle trail, 3 walking trails and our new Glade area, which features our Gruffalo sculpture.
