About
Is there anything more exciting for a kid than exploring a cave? The Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre provides a walk through insight into the fascinating underground world of the 19th Century. Your family can take a 45 minute guided tour through the underground network of tunnels, discover the chambers and explore the passageways.
Look out for the toy moles for kids to find on the tour! Then head to view the exhibition area which depicts the life and times of arguably one of Liverpool's most eccentric characters. Tours cannot be pre-booked but they say the most you'll wait for one to start is 20 minutes, so make yourselves known and then have a look around for a bit!
Sensible shoes and generally sensible clothes must be worn to descend into the depths, but although hard hats are provided the whole area is reassuringly safe and well lit.
