About

Monkeys are intelligent, playful animals that have a safe home at The Monkey Sanctuary. This active rescue centre takes in animals that haven’t had the best start in life. They then give them whatever they need to heal them physically, emotionally and socially in an environment where they are nurtured, protected and safe.

There are over 36 individuals currently living at the sanctuary, each with a different personality and story, which keepers are on hand to share during daily talks. The surrounding wildlife gardens and nature reserve enhance the holistic feel of the sanctuary and give visitors the benefit of being close to nature. Wild flowers and woodland create, what will feel like, your own secret garden!

There are lots of children’s activity workshops if they’d like to learn more about how the sanctuary is run and all the work that goes into caring for the monkeys, as well as play areas, a gift shop and a café. A healing and playful space for animals and families alike!
