About

Wat Tyler Country Park covers an area of 125 acres within the South Essex Marsh area and contains a variety of habitats and a rich diversity of species which includes a number of locally and nationally rare species. It's a great place to take a nature walk, a mini beast safari or a camera with zoom for the kids to make a wildlife portfolio for fun or school. Whatever you like!

Visitors of all ages are invited to explore the exhibitions through graphics and interactives at the Wat Tyler and Green Centres, ranging from the nitroglycerin mixing hut (where the roof blows off if you get the mix wrong), unexploded bomb you can defuse, and demolish a tower block to recycling games and video interactives in the green centre. There is also a pleasing sculpture trail for families to hike, allowing kids to discover artwork at they go. The local authorities run a really great range of holiday entertainments here during the summer, well worth looking out for.

Good for: all ages, babies toddlers, older children, teenagers, young children
