Ulster Folk and Transport Museum - Photo 1

About

The Ulster Folk Museum has lovingly recreated an early 1900s town to allow your family to experience the lives and traditions of the north of Ireland at the time. It's a pleasingly immersive jaunt down pre-memory lane and school age kids will find a wealth of intriguing information to learn. Smaller kids will enjoy it too, if just for the surrealism!

Plus, there are hands-on activities for the kids to get involved with, and talkative guides in 1900s costume to interrogate! The Folk Galleries offer thorough exhibitions on traditional Food And Farming plus demonstrations of traditional skills in the Meet the Victorians exhibit, such as lace making, woodturning, weaving and ironwork, give you a real feeling of being part of their daily life! The Ulster Transport Museum is hailed as one of the finest Transport Museums in Europe and displays such retro rev head wonders as horse drawn carts, Irish built motor cars and steam trains, moving onto the super modern!

Try out a full motion flight simulator in the Interactive Flight Experience! An absolute trove of vehicular history that kids of ages will really enjoy discovering, possibly several times per area so be sure to leave plenty of time or risk their teeny tiny wrath.
