About
The Trolleybus Museum is the world's largest collection of preserved trolleybuses, alongside other vehicles and artefacts from the same era like trams, tractors and motorbuses. Ideal staring fare for your little rev head! It bears mentioning that the opening days to the public are pretty limited, but equally when they are open they make an occasion of it and you can catch working trolleybus rides frequently.
Often open days will have a seasonal theme or bonus. Other options include the annual Sandtoft Gathering and the after dark session called the Twilight Trolleys! Please note that while there is reasonable disabled access most trolleybus rides may not be accessible to those with major disabilities; however the Museum now has an accessible trolleybus which is operated on a handful of days a year.
Also, the phone number reaches an automated line. There is also an additional experience available for additional cost where older types can drive a trolleybus themselves! These sessions are held when the facility is otherwise closed.
Good for: older children, teenagers, young children
