About

South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum at Doncaster Lakeside on the former site of WWII RAF Doncaster has historic buildings and aircraft hangers, military aircraft and helicopters, and you can even put yourself in the pilot seat as selected cockpits are always open! A great day out for families and enthusiasts alike. The museum exhibits a collection of aircraft, from craft flown at the first air show in in Britain in 1909 at Doncaster Racecourse, to civil light aircraft, and modern fast jets.

You will see helicopters, rockets, and more, plus a number of interactive exhibts, most of which are under cover, making this a great all weather attraction. A flight simulator room offers the whole family the chance to be a pilot and anyone can try it from age 5 upwards. There is also a museum shop where you can buy refreshments, books, videos and model aircraft kits.

The museum hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, so take a look at their events page before you visit to see what's on. It doesn't matter if you can't make it to an event weekend though, as there is always something to see and do, including quizzes for younger visitors. Please use DN4 7NW if you are using SAT NAV.
