The Quay Climbing Centre
Exeter, Devon

About
The Quay Climbing Centre There are loads of ways for young climbers to get into the sport and the fully equipped family taster sessions here are ideal for introducing youngsters aged 7 and over where you have a go with them and increase their confidence. Plus there are their climbing clubs: The Monquays is for smaller kids and The Youth Club is for older ones, plus focused tuition is available too. You can even celebrate your birthday at the Quay!
Their dedicated novice zone The Quarry, their abseil tower and their self contained boulder caves are brilliant but they're largely for groups to use so if you want to get in there, round up some friends and book in! As kids progress they find the wide open space beneath The Prow provides a great space when they're learning to lead climb and their maximum 1:9 instructor child ratio helps them deliver a fun, safe and rewarding experience to every climber. The Family Taster sessions are great fun and the goal is to learn the basics while you have fun, trying as many climbs as you like, for over 7s and their grown up to bond, support or compete!
Friendly and enthusiastic instructors will show you all the basics of roped climbing and also un-roped bouldering. In no time you'll be at the top of the wall and hooked for life on the buzz of being there! Family Tasters run every weekend and throughout school holidays.
Their Outdoor Rock Taster includes simple instruction in belaying, basic climbing and safe movement with lots of natural rock climbs to try! No previous climbing experience is needed and over 7s are welcome for half or full days, but you need a minimum group size of 4 folks, so round up some friends for this one too!
