The Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway - Photo 1

About

At the Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway, there's a charming LGB model railway with miniature surrounds that will happily entrance the younger visitor as it goes around and round with great teeny tiny scenes and landscapes. You can point out to older ones that it's meant to represent Austria! Outside there are pleasing walks in the well-maintained woods and picnic areas that are scattered about, plus some seating is provided near train routes so they can pass you while you relax!

It's a nice relaxing environment that's ideal for bringing young kids and grandparents all along together! The museum is available to explore on event days. It offers a terrific range of steam locomotives of varying gauges, freight and carriage stock, and other intriguing railway artefacts that will keep your little trainspotter contentedly bouncing between displays.

You can see a Beam Engine - a wonderful example of Victorian engineering, several examples of a Traction Engine including one which used to be a showman's amusement piece, plus a collection of vintage automobiles. ), so be prepared to go on them a lot, with enough points of interest for you and the older ones en route to tolerate the repetition, like the replica pumping station with a working Victorian Steam Driven Beam Engine. And when you're ready to relinquish the rails there's a delightful Dutch Street Organ in the tea room to enjoy too.
