Teignmouth Lido

Teignmouth Lido is a heated and welcoming outdoor pool with some kids' fun sessions offered. There's at least one qualified lifeguard standing guard throughout every session, and you can snack it up to refuel between mad paddles at the onsite refreshment kiosk. A family splash around plus sunbathing and ice cream?

Sounds like summer! It's fairly flat and disability accessible with grab rails and steps available to help everyone in and out, plus there are adults only and lane swimming sessions as well as the general access and fun ones, so although it means you definitely need to check ahead on the timetables before planning your trip, it also means that you can pick and choose your crowd which is very helpful. Although it's heated, at the peripheries of the season it can get a little chilly so they vote wetsuits over costumes if you've got the option, and staying nicely submerged before legging it to the towels if you don't!

They're joking of course, don't run - you'll get told off! The pool is located at the end of the Den promenade and within walking distance from Teignmouth train station so why not leave the family motor at home and have a railway adventure to and from, with a stroll down Teignmouth beach in the middle?
