Tannaghmore Animal Farm

The charming Tannaghmore Animal Farm offers close encounters with many animals and is suitable for a range of ages depending on which angle you take it: it's a lovely trip with recognisable creatures for the young kids, but a great educational opportunity for the older types as livestock include cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry traditionally found on farms in Ulster 100 years ago! Many of these breeds are now rare or close to extinction and include Irish Moiled cattle, the rarest breed of cattle in the world; and Dexter cattle, one of the smallest breed of cattle in the world! A terrific complementary trip for those studying such things in school.

Galway sheep, Saddleback pigs, various poultry and rabbits are also around, so a nicely rounded farm experience for the younger guest. Groups can also enjoy a visit to the Barn Museum with its delightful displays of vintage farming activities in Co. Armagh.

Pre booking is essential for this and minimum numbers may apply. The Farm is right beside the Craigavon Lakes, which is great territory for a family exploration or industrious hike if you're up to it. Plus there's a neat little playground in the gardens next door which is well worth a pelt about on!
