Steam trains run every Sunday and Bank Holiday on a picturesque 6 mile round trip from Sunniside in Gateshead to East Tanfield near Stanley. This is a great day out for families and history fans alike, with Europe's oldest working engine shed to explore, and the world's oldest railway bridge to investigate.
