About

Sutton Hoo is home to one of the most important archaeological discoveries of all time. Discover tales of mysterious mounds and buried treasure, dress up like an archaeologist - or a king - and find out what life was like for the Anglo-Saxons centuries ago. Inside Tranmer House, you can find out what it's really like to be an archaeologist on the eve of a discovery, make your own models in the Discovery Room and travel back in time to the 1930s, with our archive of images from the world-famous dig.

Outside, Sutton Hoo has miles of trails to explore, as well as an adventure playground filled with fun. Immerse yourself in nature, look out for birds and beasties and even build your very own Anglo-Saxon den as you explore the estate - and don't forget to climb to the top of the 17m viewing tower, where you can get a bird's eye view over the historic Burial Ground.
