About
St Johns Beacon Viewing Gallery, also known as Radio City Tower, is a radio and observation tower that is the second tallest free standing building in Liverpool, and the 32nd tallest in the UK! Standing proudly some 452 feet (138m) above the heart of the city centre, the beacon offers stunning panoramic views of Merseyside, Wirral, North Wales (including Snowdonia occasionally), and as far away as the Lake District and Blackpool Tower on clearer days. Not bad for an observation deck that was originally designed to be a chimney!
This is a unique way to view the ever changing skyline of Liverpool, and beyond. A full colour panoramic information booklet is including in the entrance fee, plus there is a guide on hand at all times to answer any questions you or the kids may have. The Beacon Viewing Gallery is a must whether you a visiting the city, or live locally.
The building also houses the studios of Radio City, City Talk, and Magic 1548. And if all goes to plan you get to see inside the studios too! Please be aware that all children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Good for: older children, teenagers, young children
