About
With a sand and shingle shore with bright and sassily named beach huts, Southward Pier has previously won the prestigous Blue Flag award. Enjoy the waves rolling in at this most picturesque coastline in Suffolk. The sands are groyned but there's still good swimming if you're careful.
There is lifeguard cover form June to September. You can lose yourself for hours in the House of Games - an electric light-filled arcade room. Test your skills on the air hockey tables and fill your pockets as the money spills from the 2p pusher.
There's bundles of energetic and interactive games to play and prizes to be won. Wander along the Pier to the famous Under the Pier Show; crammed with a unique collection of hand-built, utterly silly, totally potty machinery. Spend a penny at the Water Clock made out of recycled copper water cylinders.
Watch the water show every 30 minutes with all donations going to charity. You'll be spoilt for choice between the wonderfully creamy Suffolk Meadow ice cream, the delicious range of naughty sweets or buttery Southwold Pier shortbread. This is a safe, child friendly environment with an emphasis on fun family entertainment.
Good for: all ages, babies toddlers, older children, teenagers, young children
