Shap Swimming Pool

Shap at just under 1,000 ft is England's highest heated open air swimming pool! 5 metres at the deep end and is heated to a comfortable 26 degrees. Throughout the open season it's open for a few hours after school weekdays during term time and all afternoon weekends and school holidays, plus separate Adults only sessions.

This means when you go with the kids there'll be no lane swimmers moaning about them splashing or making noise, everyone in there will be doing that with you! They also have a small separate paddling pool for the smalls, benches and picnic tables around the edges and a small shop serving refreshments. A qualified lifeguard is also on duty at all times and the facilities include separate changing rooms, showers and free use of floats.

Private hire and parties are also available here too. The Memorial Park is right next door, which is a great spot to slip over to after your swim to refuel everyone with a picnic. Bonus!
