About
Seaton Tramway offer a fun day out for all the family, and a chance to step back in time when you ride one of the trams. They operate narrow gauge heritage trams alongside the river Axe estuary in East Devon's glorious Axe Valley, through 3 miles of unspoilt countryside, and 2 nature reserves giving unrivalled views of the abundant wading bird life. The Tramway links Colyton with the coastal resort of Seaton (one of the gateway towns on the Jurassic Coast, which to date is Britain's only natural World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO), and the ancient town of Colyton known as “Devon's Most Rebellious Town” for its part in the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685.
The tram journey takes about half an hour, and they operate open toppers, or enclosed saloons, depending on weather conditions. Tours of the Seaton branch line are also available, which offers fascinating stories behind the Southern Railway line, with a former employee as your guide, showing you points of interest along the way. Polar Express Tram rides available during December, plus other seasonal events throughout the year, including The Dinosaur Train, from the creator of the Muppets!
A great day trip for families especially as it's a delight for all age ranges, so why not bring nan and granddad along too?!
