About

The RSPB Bempton Cliffs are a safe haven for local creatures and give animal lovers a chance to see them in their natural habitat. This would be a fantastic way to teach children about the importance of conservation. Watch nearly half a million seabirds flock to the cliffs, far above the crashing waves of the North Sea.

It’s the UK’s largest mainland seabird colony and is quite a sight, especially from one of their six clifftop viewing platforms. Four of the viewpoints are wheelchair and pushchair accessible. They are all carefully maintained, so you can safely enjoy the view with your youngest ones.

The site offers all the essentials for a lovely day out: activities for kids, nature trails, picnic areas, equipment for hire and a Seabird Centre. You can even get a sneak peek of the birds with CCTV footage beamed live from the cliff face. Sail the seven seas - or at least the Yorkshire coastline - on a Puffin and Gannet Cruise.

A whole host of feathery friends are waiting to meet you, including gannets, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and puffins. You’ll also be in marine mammal country so keep eyes peeled for seals and porpoises!
