About

At the Royal Academy of Arts they offer a warmly welcoming environment for families and encourage children and adults to learn together! ) and practical workshops to join in with which are always based around the exhibitions on display in the galleries at the time. The events are designed for families to explore art materials and creative techniques via shared projects to build and support a shared interest in art.

There are also some dedicated sessions for families with children with special educational needs. Both workshops must have places booked as they're pretty popular but the family studios are free and drop in so just turn up! But even if there's no special event on there is loads here to see and explore, plus you can pick up a free fun and creative worksheet called the Art Detectives Family Trail from reception and use that to help keep the fidgety ones happy!

For folks with babies or toddlers they offer a changing facility inside the accessible toilet in the Front Hall and highchairs are available in the eateries. Pushchairs are welcomed in the galleries or can be stored in the cloakroom. They are breast feeding friendly too and recommend the comfy leather seats by the entrance to the restaurant!

All in all a welcoming and well equipped trip that's ready with whatever you need to help keep the visit smooth and enjoyable. Because of the facilities and the availability to stay here all day without charge, this is a great place for playdates too!
