5 Best Activities In Padstow
Four of Padstow's five listings are outdoors and one is not. That ratio tells you which families get the most from the town: the ones content to let a day happen rather than book it in advance.
Trevone Bay beach and Constantine Bay take any age, from a baby asleep in the shade to a fifteen-year-old with a board. MacDonalds Farm covers the animal-obsessed years, roughly two to eight. National Lobster Hatchery is the only roofed entry, and it is a short, genuinely interesting stop rather than an afternoon.

This is a fine-weather town on the strength of its list. One indoor entry means a wet week needs a plan that reaches beyond it, but given sun, two beaches and a farm make a perfectly good weekend. Tides and parking are the two things that catch families out here in August.
Visiting Padstow with kids: FAQs
Which beach for small children?
Trevone Bay beach is the smaller of the two listed and the easier one for keeping an eye on toddlers, while Constantine Bay is bigger and better suited to children who want surf. Both call for the usual Cornish caution: look up tide times before you settle in, and find the lifeguard flags before anybody goes into the water.
What if we do not want to be on a beach all day?
MacDonalds Farm is the obvious break, and it suits a toddler through to about eight. National Lobster Hatchery is brief but the sort of place children remember, particularly after a morning spent in rock pools. Those two together make a full day out of Padstow without any sand involved at all, if that is what the day requires.
Is Padstow any good in the rain?
Not on this list, no, and better to find that out now than in a car park with two damp children. Exactly one entry of the five has a roof over it, which turns a wet day into a short stop and then a drive to somewhere else in Cornwall. Pack for weather rather than planning around it, and hold an indoor option from another town in reserve.
Our fourteen-year-old thinks farms are for babies. Then what?
The beaches carry that age group. Constantine Bay in particular suits surf, and a teenager with a board needs no further entertaining from anybody. Past that, treat the town as a base for a day out rather than as the day itself — five listings will not stretch to a whole weekend for a fourteen-year-old.
