About
After starting life as a Wingham Bird Park in 1986, Wingham Wildlife Park really spread its wings under new owners in 2008 to become one of Kent’s most popular attractions! Located just outside the cathedral city of Canterbury, they have the largest number of animal species in all the wildlife parks and zoos in Kent. So, if you're looking for an unmissable family day out, this might just do the trick!
The Animals Now this family-owned park houses an array of animals, big and small! Winged and wingless, so there's an animal out there for everyone! Let's start off with the big animals - moon bears, and black bears visit the Chimp House and observe western chimpanzees, find the adorable red panda, goggle at the majestic tiger, and admire the mischievous meerkats - plus there's so many more animal exhibits to discover!
But that's not all! There is also a huge variety of coated otters, Eurasian wolves, lemurs, squirrel monkeys, dwarf crocodiles and penguins too, animals from all different landscapes and environments. There are daily talks and feeds and guests can also book special experience days to allow them to get up close and personal with their favourite beast.
Dinosaur Zoo Don't forget to visit the Dinosaur Park! With over 29 life-like dinosaur models to ogle at, your little ones will truly be amazed! Bringing the pre-historic era back to life so brace yourself for the sound of T-rex’s roar in the background, especially with their animatronic dinosaurs.
It’s most definitely a walk on the wild side! You'll be able to learn more about the pre-historic beasts, like the Triceratops, Diplodocus, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor and so many more unique and interesting dinosaurs that will make you roar with excitement! Animal Experiences You can also help the friendly staff take care of the animals by being a zoo keeper for a day!
Spend up to 20 minutes with giraffes and other animals, as you feed them treats and see them up close and personal. With a whole range of amazing animal encounters, you can choose from Arctic wolves, cheetahs, otters, sloths, a tiger experience and even a giant tortoise! With lots of animals to see and interact with, you'll have a fantastic time and make lifelong memories.
More Than Just Animals Did you think that was all? The fun never stops here! The kids can enjoy themselves in the soft play area, have a go at an 18-hole mini-golf course or wander around the museum.
But they can also enjoy some more animal attractions such as the Reptile House and Tropical House, as well as the Bug House & Gardens, attend animal talks and feeding time and zoom around with some go-karting! Animal fun for everyone! Food & Drink If you're tummies are roaring for some grub, head to the cafe for a range of light bites, moreish meals and refreshments.
There's also refreshment kiosks by the Tropical House, a mini golf area and a giraffe exhibit. If you'd like, you can also bring a packed lunch - there's plenty of picnic areas to relax in. Why We Recommend Wingham Wildlife Park for Families This superb wildlife park offers lots for families!
