About

University of Dundee Botanic Garden has some great hidden areas to explore, plus a well and a mountain. It is peaceful and beautiful, as well as educational, giving you a chance to find out about the plants growing there. The glasshouse has lemons, bananas and oranges to find, plus gives you an opportunity to find out where paper, tea and coffee come from.

Birds to look out for include Goldcrests, herons and blue tits. There are some mini online guides available with information about different aspects of the garden including birds, insect eating plants and alien invaders! Find out about trees as you follow the Trail of the Lonesome Pine or just enjoy the variety of native and exotic plants on display.

Three large pools hold plenty of aquatic plants and the indoor tropical one has a Victorian Water Lily, which has leaves of up to 2 meters (over 6ft ), in diameter! A Fun Day in April, Open Air Theatre, plus Hallowe'en and Christmas related events are available to enjoy every year.
