About
Trues Yard Museum , also known as True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum , is an independently run social history museum that is run almost entirely by volunteers, and tells the story of the old North End fishing quarter in King's Lynn. The North End of King's Lynn was once home to hundreds of fishermen and their families. They lived and worked in tiny cottages, crammed into small yards.
Only 2 cottages survived the slum clearances in the 1930s and 1960s, and you can find them both at True's Yard Museum. Explore the cottages, town models, galleries, fishing smack and more with our new children's trails. ), or hoist the flag on the boat (weather permitting)?
Dip into to our new dressing up box to learn more about pirates, smugglers and other characters. There is so much to discover here, as you step back in time to find out what it was like to be a ‘Northender', with a range of interactive activities, guided tours, and trails to follow.
