Thames Path National Trail

About
Thames Path National Trail meanders from the Cotswolds to the heart of London and there is plenty to explore and enjoy with the kids along the way. You will pass historic cities and towns, peaceful water meadows packed with wildlife and many lovely villages. This is a relatively gentle route, which is able to be walked by people of all abilities and ages.
From rural areas full of crops, cattle and sheep, the trail goes beyond Oxford as the river widens and more settlements appear. Things get busier at Henley, with more boats on the water and people enjoying picnics. Further along, you will pass Windsor Castle and the palaces of Hampton Court and Kew.
Once at the last non tidal lock on the Thames, you can either walk on the north or south side banks of the river through London, passing leafy Kew and Richmond before entering the heart of the city and reaching the final section of the path. Whether you chose a section to explore on a day out, or you make a holiday of it and travel more each day, there are loads of sights to amuse the little ones.
Good for: all ages, babies toddlers, older children, teenagers, young children
