About

The Underwater Archaeology Centre now known as Sunken Secrets is one of Fort Victoria's principle attractions, with intriguing exhibits and fascinating displays guaranteed to get little imaginations going! Stimulate your senses through their sunken artefact displays, multi-media presentations, interactive games and numerous activities. You can hear all about the unfortunate ships which have been claimed by the sometimes treacherous seas around the Isle, plus learn about how maritime archaeologists do their intricate and interesting jobs with dioramas of archaeologists at work: cool!

Find out about a recently discovered 'lost landscape' hidden deep beneath the Solent at Bouldnor Cliff; plus discover the rich history of Fort Victoria as a sea mining depot, a costal battery and a military power boat base and learn about the soldiers who served there. Kids will particularly like the exhibit on the role of animals in the World Wars and why a cat received a special medal! Please note that from October through Easter the contact number changes to 02380 237300.

Plus, elsewhere in Fort Victoria you've got a Marine Aquarium, a Planetarium with Star 360 Theatre and a Model Railway exhibition and shop, plus the parkland beyond. Plenty to keep you busy all day if you like!
