About

Somerset Cricket Museum can be found at the County Ground, and housed in a 500 year old Grade II listed building that is the only remaining building of the Augustinian Tauton Priory, which was seized by King Henry VIII in 1539! The Museum is within walking distance of the main rail and bus stations, and can be found behind the Ondaatje Pavillion. The displays and exhibits primarily cover the history of the cricket club, including Test Match players such as Marcus Trescothick and Ian Botham!

There is also a section devoted to the England women's cricket team, because the County Ground is their headquarters. Another collection is devoted to Zingari memorabilia, as the current club chairman has strong family links with this club. There is also an exhibition that commemorates the centenary of the outbreak out WWI, as 13 Somerset players lost their lives during that conflict, and this is dedicated to their memories.

You can also see a number of war medals awarded to previous members. The museum is widely acclaimed as one of the best of its kind, and it also holds the archives of the club, which can be made available to researchers and other interested visitors. This place is a must for cricket lovers of all ages!
