About
A wide variety of recreational activities is catered for at Shepherd Meadows and neighbouring Sandhurst Memorial Park via the network of paths and seating, children's play area, multi-sport area, skate-park, football and cricket pitches. Community facilities include the Pistachios Cafe and Community Hall, while the presence of the Police Point and the Town Council offices ensure that the site is a focus for local people. Covering approximately 28 hectares, the park is managed by Sandhurst Town Council and has become one of the premier recreational sites in Bracknell Forest.
Whether your idea of recreation is sport, walking, nature or sheer relaxation, Sandhurst Memorial Park is the place to visit. Shepherd Meadows which is managed by Bracknell Forest Council covers about 100 acres of wet wildflower meadow and woodland straddling the River Blackwater at the point where the counties of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey meet. Flower-rich meadows are now rare and about one quarter of the species associated with herb-rich grassland in Berkshire can be found at Shepherd Meadows.
