Things to do Sale Water Park, located to the south of the city, is an area of countryside and parkland containing a lake, woodland, meadows, and the River Mersey . Fun isn't just restricted to the water though, with a wide range of fun on-land activities like Team Building, Orienteering, and Rocket Launching to enjoy, you'll never be short of things to do. The park is even prettier in the sun, so go and explore the grassy meadows, and River Mersey or follow pathways to Jackson’s Boat Bridge! Walking is great and all but what if you could speed up your exploration...?

Grab your favourite pair of wheels and cycle around the park! There are a collection of routes available. Don't have your own bike?

No worries, just hire a bike from Velo Times and get to access miles of stunning traffic-free routes. You can explore Manchester’s industrial past along its canals, visit the deers on the grounds of Dunham Massey Park or be amazed by the wildlife at our local Sale and Chorlton water parks. If you are interested in wildlife, Cormorants are a regular sight at Sale Water Park. There’s also a pair of mute swans who live on the lake. Their love story dates all the way back to 2002.

There are 300 parking spaces at the Sale Water Park park and ride facilities if using the Metrolink tram. They are available from 3am until 1am. There is no overnight parking.
