Rutland Water Nature Reserve always has something of interest to do, whatever the season, whether the kids want to see some amazing wildlife, or do something active in the great outdoors. 5km) of shoreline, and a variety of habitats to explore, such as lagoons and extensive muddy banks, so bring your wellies! A number of activities are available on the lake and there are some good cycle routes to follow.

You can even bring the family pooch for a walk, but only on the Lyndon side of the reserve, and they must be kept on the lead. Little nature lovers will be amazed at the variety of wildlife to enjoy, from the Ospreys, which can be seen in spring and summer, to a large number of waterfowl, such as tufted ducks and greylag geese. There are also numerous butterflies, dragonflies, and other insects, plus loads of mammals, including otters, badgers and water voles.
