About
Rushmere Country Park offers an excellent chance to get back to basics and into nature with outdoorsy kids of all ages. Whether you hunt for mini beasts, make orienteering trails for each other, bird spot, play hide and seek or just lark about, this is a beautiful green space that will cleanse y'all just by being here! Horse riders and cyclists have free access to the footpaths and bridleways but if you want to hit up the off road additional trails you'll need a permit, which you can book online.
They're around £45 for a family permit though, so you might want to just stop at the visitor centre first for a map and stick to the free trails! The Heron's View Visitor Centre offers local information and assistance but also the Treetops Cafe for that vital coffee stop! There are also public loos etc here so this is a good place to use as your base spot and certainly worth remembering where it is.
You can also enjoy regular family oriented special events days here too including things like Gala Days, Flower Walks, Summer and Christmas Fayres, Dog Shows, Canal Festival and Treasure Hunts! So use the handy link to check what's coming up and slip a little more wow into your day! And if you're staying for a while why not pack up some outdoorsy games like bats and balls, frisbees and kites, or anything else you fancy!
There's nothing to fall back on facility wise, so pack the kit bag to be over prepared!
