The museum also goes on to share the history of the local area during World War Two. You can find out about evacuees in the local area, rationing, RAF Annan and get the whole family involved in dressing up upstairs in The Devil's Porridge Museum. We also tell the story of Scotland's First Nuclear Power Station, Chapelcross!

There is a children's menu and high chairs available. We source produce from our local butcher and supplement it with seasonal produce grown in our Dig For Victory garden on site. You don't have to visit our museum to enjoy our Cafe, but please be aware that our Cafe opening hours are different to those of the museum.

The Devil's Porridge Museum started off in St John’s Church, Eastriggs around 26 years ago and has grown into the award-winning, purpose-built attration it is today. In 2024 and 2023, The Devil's Porridge Museum has been awarded Tripadvisor's Traveller's Choice Award.
In 2023, The Devil's Porridge Museum won the Celebrating Thriving Communities award in the South of Scotland regional Thistle Awards final. In 2022, The Devil's Porridge Museum was Winner of Best Visitor Attraction Experience in the West of Scotland at the Scottish Thistle Award's Regional Finals and in 2018 the museum was Winner of Best Heritage Tourism Experience in the West of Scotland at the Scottish Thistle Award's Regional Finals. In 2019, The Devil's Porridge Museum was proud to have been shortlisted for Kids In Museum's "The Most Family Friendly Museum in the UK" award.
