Click here and plan your route. com/find-us/ Conservation manifesto: With the current state of decline, around one million species are under the threat of extinction. Many of these species are invertebrates.

Larger animals like tigers and pandas are considered flagship species because they motivate people to donate to conservation efforts due to their ‘cute’ factor. Sadly, invertebrates do not attract the same attention as many people consider them to be creepy and overall unimportant. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

25 million species of described invertebrate and annually they contribute to half of all newly discovered species. Subsequently, invertebrates form the largest animal group on the planet and their importance is paramount. We at The Bug Parc want to do our part to contribute to ongoing conservation efforts concerning native inverts as well as tropical species plus, initiate new efforts for species that we feel have been overlooked and, although not currently endangered, are at high risk.

’ By displaying over two hundred different species from across the globe our aim is to highlight the impressive variation, numerous adaptations, and pivotal importance of invertebrates in the hopes that people will overcome their fears and learn to admire the most successful group of organisms on the planet. In this manifesto we outline the key principals that will be used as a template for conservation efforts undertaken by us, collate the current efforts we are making as well as discuss future initiatives we aim to undertake.
